Twinwood Glen Miller Festival Friday 22nd August to Tuesday 26th August 2008.

The Friday evening meet and greet had a full attendance and in true Big Band style, went with a SWING. Over the course of the weekend, we had 10.00am coffee and cake mornings every day, the Hobnob biscuits were good, but we think it was the Cherry Madeira cake, the Genoa Fruit cake and the Carrot Cake that kept them coming back for more.   On the last day we held a period dress competition and WOW what a turn out....we could only give three prizes out, but truly everybody was a winner...FANTASTIC!

R.O. and Asst. RO, Syd D. and Malcolm W. made the difficult decisions and chose three, with our club president Vic making the presentations.   They were....Mary B. & Lyn G. (both ladies very elegantly and stylishly dressed in true 40's style, right down to the furs and headwear) and John Y. (he made a very nice job of being Winston Churchill).   It was a great rally, made even better by the enthusiastic way that everyone joined in.....ROLL ON NEXT YEAR..
